Meet your new Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader!
Hey Yβall, my name is Summer, and I am a faithful believer in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I have struggled in the past with prescription narcotics due to chronic pain and also took any
drug that made me numb including alcohol. If you name a mental illness, most likely I have been
labeled or diagnosed with it at some point in my life and institutionalized. I am a child of several
forms of abuse, trauma, and dysfunction that God and therapy have helped me overcome.
Currently, I struggle with food and emotional regulation while working as a nurse during this
hormonal time in my life with adult children making questionable life choices. Welcome to Salem
Celebrate Recovery Open Share Only Group!
A little more about me is that my husband and I have been together for over 24 years, and we
have two handsome boys that are now men. As any honest married person would admit, it is
not all peaches and cream. There have been many mountains and valleys with our marriage,
yet I am eternally grateful that my husband never gave up on me like I tried to give up on
me.That brings me to how I started my recovery journey back when I hit my rock bottom in the
thick of COVID in 2020.
That rock bottom was necessary as that was how I built my firm foundation on Jesus! He has
since blessed me with the ability to be a servant to the recovery community now. Back when I
joined Celebrate Recovery in January of 2021 after coming home from a rehab facility, I had no
idea what was in store for me. There was no looking back! God had a plan for my life, and it was
a plan to prosper; not to harm.
New Life Church and Pastor Claude Howell have been more than accommodating by allowing
me to foster my faith and now are allowing me to host the New and Smaller Open Share Only
Celebrate Recovery on Thursday Evenings at 6pm. This for anyone needing help with whatever
may be making life a little challenging that wants a safe place to share.
We'll have a delicious home cooked meal at 5;30 p.m. for some fellowship.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. with a short testimony (mini-mony) from the ministry leader where after the sharing will begin in gender specific groups.
This is for adults.
No perfect people allowed!
Bring your hurts, habits, and hangups to leave at the door so you can let the healing begin!
