Herne Bay Jazz: Frances Knight & Matt Miles Duo

Frances Knight studied jazz and composition at the Guildhall School of Music. Her projects have been eclectic and diverse, ranging from jazz and improvised music, to theatre, circus and Argentinian Tango. Frances has her own label, Mandeville Records, featuring amongst others, clarinet legend Tony Coe. Tracks have been played on the BBC and Europe-wide. As part of the Canterbury scene, she has recorded with the late Hugh Hopper of Soft Machine, and Caravan's Geoffrey Richardson.

Her latest release, 'Chouette' with vocalist Ginger Bennett, will be out later this year. Australian Matthew Miles is a jazz saxophonist, composer and arranger, now working in Kent. A graduate of Goldsmiths College, he has had the good fortune to study and work alongside saxophonists such as Loren Schoenberg at the Lincoln Centre, Dave O'Higgins, Tim Garland, Paul Booth, Julien Siegel and many others. Matthew is the founder of Work8shop - a composer led octet.
