Dan Carleton has been writing poetry since he was eight years old, much of which he is grateful to say has not survived. Sixty years on and he's still writing. From graduate school at University of Illinois, to working as a lobster fisherman and a gear machinist, he has traveled the world as a consultant to industry. He writes poems about family, animals, life on a small island in Maine, the auto industry, university life, and poetry itself. Above all, his love is for poetry from John Donne and Girard Manly Hopkins to Dylan Thomas and Gallway Kinnell. This will be his fifth book of poems.
