Artist Christopher Moench at Whatcom Art Guild

All members and guests are invited to join us at our monthly gathering of Whatcom Art Guild where we will meet local artist Christopher Moench. Chris sculpts contemporary prayer wheels from porcelain and stoneware with scenes inspired by nature, world events, and personal stories. Each wheel is mounted to a sturdy cast-iron turntable so it can spin with the push of a hand. The prayer wheel lid lifts off so the hollow vessel can be filled with an individual's written prayers, intentions, or drawings to encourage hope, healing and peacefulness. Chris is a founding member of Whatcom Artist Studio Tour, and has refined his process of creating in clay since 1992. Learn from Chris about his work at our next Whatcom Art Guild general meeting, Monday 7pm July 28, 2025 at the Whatcom Art Center in Bellingham.
