Recently, thermal imaging equipment has become much more accessible to the general public here in Australia. It is now regarded as a game-changing tool in the study of natural history in the field and has many benefits for research and conservation applications. Ross Coupland will be sharing some notable finds and encounters with Aussie wildlife using a thermal device and sharing a recent discovery about the biology of a family of insects which has remained completely unknown until now. In addition, Kieran Aland will provide us with a short demonstration of rapid screening of acoustic data for vocal species.
