MIX: Gatsby

MIX: Gatsby invites guests to celebrate the glitz and glamour of the roaring twenties 100 years after F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic, The Great Gatsby, was first published. Cleveland’s in-demand band Red Light Roxy performs a mix of jazz standards, jump blues, swing, and boogie-woogie. DJ Lo bookends the evening, spinning sets of swing music and crowd favorites. Viva Dance Studio hosts a brief swing dance class, and Poetry Free Cleveland poets type improvised poems for guests using typewriters. Attendees are encouraged to visit the CMA’s newest exhibition, Rose Iron Works and Art Deco, which explores Martin Rose’s transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco, focusing on his 1930s commissions. Themed food and drink items, including cocktails, beer, and wine, are available to purchase from Bon Appétit. We hope you can join us for the night’s West Egg affair.

During this event, MIX attendees can visit the CMA’s special exhibition Takashi Murakami: Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow with the exception of entering the Yumedono installation in the Ames Family Atrium.
