Tree Ecology Hike

Trees are all around us, but how often do we really think about the important roles they play in our Iowa ecosystems? Explore the world of trees on this guided hike through Prairie Creek Recreation Area, Maquoketa, on Sunday, August 10 at 1:00 PM.

We will practice identifying common trees in Eastern Iowa and discuss how they interact with the living and nonliving factors in the environment.

This event is free and open to all ages.

Participants must be able to walk on uneven trails, and up hills and stairs. Prairie Creek Recreation Area is located at 1215 East Summit Street, Maquoketa, Iowa, and the hike will begin from the park pavilion.
