Hiking Program: Gooseberry Knob & Hemphill Bald

Challenge yourself with a breathtaking 6.5-mile trek through some of the most scenic high-elevation trails in the area! Join guides Annie and Phyllis as they lead you from the SWAG Nature Trail up to Gooseberry Knob and onward to the sweeping views of Hemphill Bald. This advanced-level hike features steady climbs, ridge-line walking, and expansive vistas that make every step worth it. Along the way, you'll experience open meadows, cool forest paths, and panoramic overlooks that showcase the wild beauty of the Smokies. We’ll meet at 9:00 AM—bring plenty of water, your lunch, and gear for a full day on the trail. Hiking poles are highly recommended for both stability and comfort on this rewarding mountain journey.
