Examples of documents to shred include papers with identifying information such as your birth date, signature, account numbers, passwords, PINs, social security numbers, deposit slips, credit card receipts, banking statements, and credit card offers.
Accepted items include white and colored paper and folders.
Staples, paper clips, and rubber bands do not have to be removed. Unacceptable items include three-ring binders, larger binder clips, tapes/CDs/DVDs, and medical waste.
