NCSW Orchard Walk to Discuss Micro-Irrigation

Bittner Singer Orchards worked with NCSWCD on a Climate Resiliency Farming grant and was awarded funding to install a micro-irrigation system in several of their orchards. The system sensors will monitor the trees water needs and send a signal to a monitoring network when the tree requires water so that the irrigation system can be turned on. Not only does the micro-irrigation system allow for water savings but also the wear and tear on the orchards from farm traffic.
