Dear neighbors and Documentary Club members,
The Upper Valley’s Downtown Documentary Club just evolved! This past month, the Upper Valley Food Coop joined forces with Junction Arts and Media to pave a fresh and exciting path forward into the Doc Club’s near future.
Our next couple months of club sessions are now on the books, and thank you so much to the full room of folks that attended July 1st's screening of The Librarians! It was wonderful to have so many new and familiar faces join to watch the film and take part in the group discussion afterward.
Our next session is Thursday, July 24th back home at the Upper Valley Food Coop (we watch in the classroom on the Coop's second floor - a big room anyone can rent that fits more than 30 people comfortably). This time, we'll be watching Dam Nation (2014) to learn about our local river ecology, and how dams interact with and influence their surrounding environments. Our dam conversation this evening will be led by a local academic authority on the relationship between river ecology and economic development - so bring all your questions about how people and waterways have interacted throughout our history.
You can send a note to SW5mbyB8IFVwcGVyVmFsbGV5Rm9vZCAhIENvb3A= to join the Documentary Club email list, and please consider sharing this invitation with your communities. In past sessions, we’ve been able to highlight a number of volunteer opportunities and good works being done by different organizations - so if you know a project or cause in the neighborhood that could benefit from attention and discussion, we hope you’ll consider sharing it with the Doc Club community.
Hope to hear from you!
Best wishes,
The Upper Valley Food Coop team
