"Book of Kells" Art Workshop 8/24/25

Join Andy McGann CCÉ members on August 24th, for a hands on art workshop exploring the BOOK OF KELLS. This workshop is from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.
As you get your supplies organized (included), there will be a 10 minute introduction to the Art of this book and what makes it so special. Following that, Liz Popiel will guide participants to create two important aspects of the book art: calligraphy of the “unical” alphabet and process and creation of an “Illumination” involving “egg tempera” paint and ink.
You will take home your lessons in the unical writing style and your finished illumination artwork, and booklet of notes created for this event.
This workshop is geared toward adults age 16 and up. No experience necessary but a strong desire to explore your artistic side.
Workshop is free and open to the public (donations for materials will be gratefully accepted). Reserve a spot on Zeffy via the ticket link - you MUST reserve your spot by August 20th!
SOME art supplies will be available for sale for those who want to continue this work at home. (pens, paint, parchment paper….etc)
