Wilson Arts is now accepting applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through September 5, 2025.
To support potential applicants, Wilson Arts will host a Grassroots Subgrant Workshop on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilson Arts Center, 204 Nash Street S, Wilson, NC 27893.

ABOUT GRASSROOTS GRANTS
Since 1977, the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program has provided North Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences. Using a per-capita-based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties through partnerships with local arts councils.
Wilson Arts serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s partner in awarding $27,469 in Grassroots Arts Program subgrants to local organizations for arts programming in Wilson County. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming within the county.
Funding priority is given to:
• Established arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals, etc.)
• Arts-in-education programs conducted by qualified artists
• Community-based organizations providing arts programming
Note: Subgrants may not be awarded to organizations that already receive operating support directly from the North Carolina Arts Council. Projects must occur between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, and grant awards typically range from $500 to $6,000.
Application forms and grant guidelines are available on the Wilson Arts website at https://wilsonarts.com/orggrants/.
Applications must be received no later than September 5, 2025 by 5 p.m.
Applications will be reviewed by a diverse panel of community members, with funding announcements made in October.
