Warm Trees 2025

See the forests come alive with colour this July with Warm Trees. The popular annual installation adds a touch of whimsy to winter and is made possible by the Friends of the National Arboretum and the dedication of hundreds of volunteers who have knitted and crocheted colourful scarves.

Each year the Friends partner with an Embassy and this year Warm Trees has partnered with the Republic of Korea, whose flag is red, white, blue and black. Along the cutting leading to the entrance of the Arboretum Visitors Centre you will see a display of these national icons during Warm Trees.

All of the knitting used in this display is used twice. First for the display, then after it has been washed, scarves are turned into warm rugs by volunteers and donated to charities.
