ICM Photography (Intentional Camera Movement) Workshop
Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
ICM, or Intentional Camera Movement, is a technique that combines the use of a slow shutter speed and intentional movement of the camera. Moving your camera while itβs exposing an image means that the elements within the frame wonβt be frozen in place. Instead, they lose their natural appearance and start floating around the frame, giving a painterly effect.
Materials and Supplies that are student responsibility:
The only requirement for students is that they have a camera capable of slow shutter speed and/or manual settings. Newer iPhones with slow shutter options and Android phones with Camera FV-5 will work for the class too.
This workshop covers all of the essentials of ICM Photography including camera settings, camera movement methods, and post processing techniques to produce unique abstract images.
Students can enter the gallery through the front door and go down the stairs. If stairs are a concern, you may enter from the lower back level and park behind Throwbax Bar and Grill. If the lower-level door is locked, please knock loudly so someone can come and let you in.
class size: 4 min / 7 max
minimum age: 18
