This exhibit represents sixty years of Milton’s work in both painting and sculpture. He lived in New York’s Hudson Valley where he was Professor of English at Marist College and moved to Cape Cod in 1999 where he operated the Teichman Gallery in the town of Brewster. The gallery became a center for cultural events in the atmosphere of artwork reflecting the influence of Modernism from Picasso to Henry Moore. Teichman said of his own work: “Both my painting and sculpture show my close attention to the dialogue between form and space—a dialogue that challenges and intrigues me. My work tends to be celebratory in mood. It is an experience for the eye that can delight and move the emotions.” Always a teacher, he loved the Hasidic wisdom: “I found light locked in a closet, all I did was open the door.” If you have questions, call Sharon Leder at 914-204-4487.
