Hello Michigan Parents!
The free lifesaving national teen driver training program B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe) returns to Ypsilanti on the weekend of July 26 & 27. The program is presented with support from DENSO.
Car crashes are among the leading causes of death among teenagers. But teens who have completed B.R.A.K.E.S. three-hour training are 64 percent less likely to get into a crash over the next three years.
The B.R.A.K.E.S. nonprofit was founded by multi-time Top Fuel drag racing champion Doug Herbert in honor of his two sons, Jon and James, who lost their lives in a tragic car crash in 2008. Herbert turned that personal tragedy into a lifesaving mission that has trained more than 150,000 teens and their parents to date.
