July 5, 2025 Work Party

It's been a while since our last visit to Keith Mitchell. Our volunteers have done an awesome job this year. Let's keep it up!
We'll be continuing our onslaught again the invasive plants. One group will tackle the parking lot area while another group will head up the trail a little ways to a spot that's overrun with privet! If you're not familiar with invasive plants, our trail crew leader(s) will show you what to cut or pull.
Meeting Time/Location:
8:30-11:30 AM at Keith Mitchell Forest/Eagle Landing Trailhead. Intersection of Routes 188 & 34. Approximate address for GPS is: 322 Squantuck Road, Seymour, CT. Enter from Roosevelt Drive.
RAIN DATE: Sunday July 6 at 10 AM
What to bring, if possible:
Good work gloves and sturdy footwear are highly recommended. We have a few extra pairs of gloves you may borrow. Suggested tools would be hand shears and loppers. A shovel or hoe may also be helpful. If you feel like it, bring your own battery-powered hedge clipper or brush cutter. We will have a couple extra shears and loppers to loan out that afternoon, but try to bring your own if you can.
All volunteers are required to sign-in.
Thank you!
