Seemingly the entire Triad (and beyond) running community gathers on race day to create a tailgating tent city over a huge swath of Country Park. Then the real fun begins. Runners take their laps while teammates, loved ones, and other teams cheer them on. There is eating, drinking, and a true fellowship of runners. You can choose to run the event as a solo participant to get your marathon miles or choose to run as a part of a team and divide the distance, 1 lap at a time, between your teammates. The Marathon is a Boston Qualifier event.
The Heartbreaker is a fantastically insane day of running and celebration of our running community!
