Chalk the Harbor + waterfront art walk

An established Gig Harbor tradition, Chalk the Harbor is a one day, free, family-friendly community event where participants transform the sidewalks of Harborview Drive into chalk creations of all shapes, sizes and skill levels.
This year, Chalk the Harbor evolves into the Chalk the Harbor & Waterfront Art Walk and will build on its street chalking foundation to become a celebration of art and community. The event will feature live art demonstrations at multiple (10+) business locations and Skansie Brothers Park, local artist showcases, and hands-on opportunities for attendees to get creative and interact with art in their own way (including robotic art!!). As well as a community art project where everyone can participate in creating a collaborative waterfront mural!
Our goal is to create a more diverse and interactive experience, fostering greater community involvement, creativity, and appreciation for the arts while celebrating local culture and history.
Date: Saturday, August 16th, 2025
Event Hours: 10am-5pm
Registration open (for chalk pick up, contest entry and art walk passport) 9am-12pm at Skansie Brothers Park & Donkey Creek Park, Gig Harbor.
