A Bengali Supper Story: The Art of Bhorta | 19th July, Dresden
In every Bengali kitchen, there's a quiet kind of magic—where nothing is wasted, and everything has a place. This philosophy, born of scarcity and resilience, gave us something extraordinary: bhorta.
Rooted in times of famine, partition, and displacement, bhorta began as an act of survival. Over generations, it became a symbol of creativity, comfort, and deep cultural memory—especially in the hands of women who made nourishment an everyday act of quiet strength.
✨ After three beautiful editions, this is the fourth chapter of my monthly Bengali Supper Club in Dresden.
📍 Johannstadt, Dresden
🕖 19th July, from 7 PM onwards
📩 RSVP-only event – limited seats
📜 Full menu will be announced in a week
Come sit at the table. Come taste a story.
