My First Period Workshop

The My First Period Workshop is designed to prepare both her and you for the start of menstrual cycles with a focus on science, values, and celebrating the dignity of women.

Why target ages 9-12?
Because early preparation has been proven to empower girls to understand what's happening (and why!) and to embrace puberty as a healthy, normal part of life, not to fear it! The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists states, "girls who have been educated about menarche and early menstrual patterns will experience less anxiety when they occur." Even if her period arrives later, she'll have friends going through it—and early preparation helps her be a supportive and understanding friend.
