Fiddler on the Roof Auditions

Landmark Community Theatre will be holding auditions for “Fiddler on the Roof”, on Sunday, June 29th and Wednesday, July 2nd in the Thomaston Town Hall. Auditions will be on a first come, first served basis. Video submissions will be accepted but are not preferred. Auditions will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday. Please arrive as close to the start times as possible. Those auditioning will be asked to read opposite others. Lucia Dressel will direct the show with music direction by John Dressel and choreography by Peggy Terhune. The show dates are October 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19 for a total of 8 performances. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, July 7th and continue to be held 3 times a week. The intended rehearsal days will be Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday evenings.
Auditioners must bring sheet music with them and be prepared to sing 32 bars (about a minute) of a fully memorized musical theater song showcasing the style and vocal range of the character for which they are auditioning. Songs from FIDDLER will be allowed. Additional vocalizing may also be a part of the audition to determine vocal range and harmonizing skills. An accompanist will be provided; no recorded accompaniment is permitted. All people auditioning should be expected to dance at their audition. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes you can move in. Script sides will be provided. Be prepared to read scenes with a group or alone if requested. Minimum age to audition is 10 years old.
