A “Masskrugstemmen” is a Bavarian sport where contestants lift and hold up a 1 liter stein of beer with one arm, completely stretched out and parallel to the floor. The winner holds the 5.7lb “Masskrug” the longest.
The men’s and women’s qualifying competition will be held at Bier & Brats July 11th. Contest entry is $25 with sign ups from 5:00-6:30. Contestants will keep their 1 liter HB stein full of bier and a “Prost!” t-shirt. The top 2 winners from each category will be invited back to our Sommer Oktoberfest on Saturday, August 16th (two entrance tickets each) to compete/qualify for the National Championship.
National Championship qualifiers receive a weekend in New York City including airfare for the winner, hotel, & VIP treatment. The US Champion will qualify in NYC and receive a trip for two to Munich (not for Oktoberfest - dates TBD).
