Over 1,200 species of moth have been recorded at Sandwich Bay and thanks to our unique location and habitat and we often record interesting migrant moths! So join our Moth experts and help the team with identification as we reveal the range of moths we have caught in our trap overnight 🦋🧐

📍Meet at the Observatory's Field Centre

🎟️No need to book and free to attend, but donations to further our conservation efforts in the Bay and beyond will be welcome.

👪Suitable for children and adults, children must be accompanied by an adult.

❗Please note: the number of moths caught in the trap will be weather dependent. The word moth ‘trap’ might sound sinister, but moth trapping isn’t deadly or cruel and no moths are harmed in the process. It simply involves attracting moths to a light source or food source so you can take a closer look at them, or if your more serious, to record the species.
