What We’ll Cover:

Day One: Saturday

Learn to mix a broad spectrum of colors from a basic palette of primary stains plus black.

Use newsprint or paper swatches to test and refine color mixes before applying them to ceramic surfaces.

Watch a brief demo on techniques for painting with stains on a glazed surface.

Begin planning designs for 3–5 pieces — we’ll explore layout, balance, and color mapping.

Each student will receive one pre-glazed tile or plate to decorate right away.

You’ll also prepare and glaze your remaining pieces during this session to decorate on Sunday.

Day Two: Sunday

Continue decorating your remaining pieces with your custom colors and designs.

Refine techniques, ask questions, and get individual guidance as you work.

We’ll discuss tips for successful firing and finish with a group reflection on your completed work.
