🧠About the Artists:
⭐ Kirsi VanSol ⭐
A pioneer in the global Kizomba scene, Kirsi has been teaching since 2011 and leading cultural immersion trips to Angola since 2017. She is widely respected for her deep knowledge, close collaboration with Angolan artists, and ability to bridge cultural understanding. Notably, she was the first European person to teach Kizomba in Angola and continues to champion the authentic roots of the dance.
In May 2024, Kirsi was invited to speak at the inaugural Original Kizomba Association conference in Angola, where she received an award for her outstanding contributions to Angolan culture and tourism — an honour she describes as her “Oscar for Lifetime Achievement.”
Kirsi’s teaching blends musicality, biomechanics, and cultural context, helping dancers connect body, music, and heritage meaningfully.
⭐ Dasmara Dossantos ⭐
An Angolan-born dancer based in Portugal, Dasmara has taught Kizomba since 2006. He gained international acclaim in 2013 when he won the Africa Dançar competition, earning the title of World Champion in Kizomba and Semba.
Renowned for his creativity, precision, and technical excellence, Dasmara is a favourite at festivals and events worldwide. His classes are known for their clarity, energy, and depth, attracting dedicated students across Europe and beyond.
In addition to his work as a dancer and teacher, Dasmara occasionally steps behind the DJ decks, bringing his musical expertise to the dance floor for a full-circle experience.
