As communities evolve, so do the stories within them. Beverley-Jane Stewart captures these shifts in the communal life of a city by taking synagogues as a starting point to trace the changes in the lives of the people around them.
Manchester Jewish Museum proudly presents three of Stewart’s series of paintings:
Synagogue Series: An intimate invitation into some of the UK’s most remarkable places of worship.
Jewish Visual Stories: A compelling chronicle of change within British Jewish communities.
Beyond the Ashes: A poignant exploration of destroyed synagogues across the Middle East and their enduring Sephardi connections.
Join us for the private view to see the exhibition, hear talks from the artist and the museum’s curator, and enjoy a special live sketching session as Beverley captures the museum’s historic synagogue. Refreshments will be provided.
