Par Honeypaw:
Honeypaw ir apvienība, kuras mērķis ir savienot savā skanējumā somugru un baltu kultūras iezīmes, veidojot bagātīgas un apburošas skaņu ainavas. Kopš 2019. gada Jurgita Žvinklytė un Matti Palonen veido savu unikālo skanējumu, balstoties tradicionālajā mūzikā un izmantojot senos instrumentus – kanteli, jouhikko un skudučiai. Viņu uzstāšanās ir izskanējušas Kanādā un Ziemeļeiropā.
2024.gadā Honeypaw izdeva jaunu albumu, iedvesmojoties no somu folklorista A.R.Niemi darbiem.
About Honeypaw:
Honeypaw’s vision is to explore the connection between Finnic and Baltic cultures to create rich and
enchanting soundscapes. Since 2019, Jurgita Žvinklytė and Matti Palonen have been developing their ideas
with archival material and unique instrumentation including kantele, jouhikko, and skudučiai, performing in
Canada and Northern Europe.
In 2024, they developed new repertoire based on the work of Finnish folklorist A.R. Niemi, performing
material in the Lithuanian villages where Niemi made wax cylinder recordings in 1912. They continue to
explore this material in 2025 with performances at major festivals including Finland’s Kaustinen Festival.
