Knotweed Knockdown on Sycamore Island

Join us for a morning of invasive plant management on Sycamore Island! Volunteers will use grass whips and loppers to cut down invasive knotweed plants to assist ALT's ongoing efforts to eradicate this species from the island.
Tools, gloves, light snacks and water will be provided. Participants will need to supply their own watercraft and PFD to get to and from Sycamore Island.
Volunteers must wear long pants and close-toed shoes. Long sleeves and a brimmed hat are recommended but not required. There are no restrooms or trash facilities on site. Please work within your ability and be prepared for paddling, hiking, and walking on uneven terrain. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
Registration is required so we can communicate in case of any necessary changes.
