Please join for a celebration of freedom, life, liberty and the pursuit of great music and tasty tacos! We know that everyone has been rallying hard over the past few months and this will be a great opportunity to enjoy some unity with like minded souls!

On Friday evening, July 11th we will be gathering at the Mid Ohio Valley Rowing Club located next to the Ohio River and the Memorial Toll Bridge. We're looking forward to a beautiful evening of music, food and celebrating the democratic principles which have served our nation well for the past 249 years!

The Carpenter Ants are one of West Virginia's most beloved bands and supporters of many wonderful causes as they bring their message via "chicken-fried gospel soul" to the masses. The Carpenter Ants have played numerous venues in the Parkersburg area over the years including touring with Jesse Jackson in the 2000s, his campaign even visited a local community college!

We know it will be dinnertime, so we will be serving up some appropriate eats for the occasion ... who doesn't love a T.A.C.O. bar! We'll have meat and veggie taco options and all the fixins. On the side we will have refried beans and delicious "cowboy caviar" salad a wonderful mix of beans, peppers, tomatoes, corn and more ... a perfect cool salad treat for a summer evening!

Attendees are urged to bring their favorite comfy camp chair and a cooler of their fave beverages. We'll provide cold water but you may want something with a little more fizz to enjoy responsibly. We are going for a fun picnic vibe!

The gates will open at 6pm and music will start shortly thereafter. We will have some surprise musical guests and The Carpenter Ants will take the stage around 7:15 for a couple sets of great music.

"Thanks to a unique and timeless blend of Appalachian soul, the group is regarded as WV’s premiere rhythm & blues band and is often called on to back local and visiting artists. As a result, the Ants have quietly amassed a resume that rivals many national groups. The band has toured Moscow three times, is preparing for its third trip to Slovakia and has appeared on NPR’s “Mountain Stage” numerous times, both as a featured act and backing other performers." - from the Purple Fiddle, the venerable WV music venue in Thomas!

We will be accepting donations for the event and we've set the ask at a reasonable $10. We understand that the local economy can be tough on folks, so we make it a donation ... if you can chip in great, if not we still want you to enjoy. Donations are simple and easy via our link - https://secure.actblue.com/donate/rocking
Donating online also helps to give us an idea of the food needs for the evening.
