Instrumental Artists Intensive Culmination

Join the students of the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program Instrumental Artist’s Intensive in the William M. Lowman Concert Hall on the Idyllwild Arts Campus for their culminating performance! This concert features cellist Mondy Gottsman, Grand Prize winner of the 14-18 year old category in the International Ukrainian Music Competition.
Before performing composer Zoltan Almashi’s “Elegy” and Mykola Lysenko’s “Élégie – La Tristesse” for cello and piano at Carnegie Hall and Ukrainian Institute of America in New York next season as part of his prize, Mondy will perform the U.S. Premiere of Almashi’s “Elegy” in it’s newly-written cello and chamber orchestra version as the soloist with the Idyllwild Arts Instrumental Artist’s Intensive Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Daniel Bassin. This will be Mondy’s third summer participating in the Instrumental Artist’s Intensive program at Idyllwild, and he is so honored to have been invited to perform as the soloist with the orchestra this summer and to present this premiere.
