A Special Live Performance from JFA

The Tempe History Museum will be making history in our community room with a very special, intimate live performance from skaterock pioneers, JFA (Jodie Foster's Army). In the early 1980s a group of Arizona skateboarders formed a band that would go on to influence generations of skateboarders and musicians alike. With the help of local entrepreneur Tony Victor, JFA was able to reach an international audience through Victor's local record label, Placebo Records that also progressed into a full-blown skateboard company, JFA Skateboards. Pioneers to say the least.

Come join us at the museum for a FREE evening of music and storytelling to complement our current Dry Surf Local Skateboarding History exhibition. Local band Fat Gray Cat will start the evening with a short acoustic set of their brand of skaterock. Brian Brannon and Don Pendleton from JFA will perform a spectacular duo set of their songs that defined a cultural movement. After the music we will have a short panel discussion featuring Don, Brian and Tony Victor with the audience having a chance to ask questions and hear some really good stories. Meanwhile, pay us a visit and get your ROLL-ON!
