Join the Kansas City Canaries for our next workshop!
The Legacy of Lucille Ball!
As a team we believe that cost should never be a barrier to dance. That's why our quarterly workshops are “Pay What You Can”.
Before becoming one of television’s most beloved comedians, Lucille Ball began her career as a dancer and chorus girl. Trained at the John Murray Anderson/Robert Milton School of Theater and Dance in New York, she performed in 1930s musicals alongside Ginger Rogers and appeared in classics like Top Hat and Follow the Fleet. Known for her fearless approach to physical comedy, Ball’s early stage work laid the foundation for a groundbreaking career in entertainment—eventually becoming the first woman to head a major production company, Desilu Productions. Her journey from the chorus line to the executive suite continues to inspire generations of performers.
