Saturday Hatha Yoga

This class is based on Swami’s Sivananda yoga tradition. His style of yoga has its roots in Hatha Yoga, a traditional form of yoga that focuses on physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama). Each session lasts 90 minutes and starts off with relaxing postures and breathing exercises followed by 3 rounds of sun salutations (Surya Namaskar) as a warm up and a sequence of twelve classical yoga poses that are repeated every class. Finishing with a fifteen minute resting pose (Savasana) that allows the body and mind to integrate the benefits of the practice.
