UPDATE!
The weather is looking better for Sunday, so it is postponed, to Sunday, June 29, 8 pm
It was Originally, Saturday, June 28, 8 pm β Opalanie Park, 1422 St. Matthews Rd
Hoping it cools off by Saturday! Did you know that Pennsylvania is host to more than 15 species of fireflies? Do you know why fireflies flash, where they live most of the year, and what we can do to support these beautiful, charismatic creatures?
Join PA Master Naturalist trainee, Carl Manthey, for an educational discussion about our local bioluminescent beetles. Then, bring a chair and a snack and relax and enjoy the wonder of natureβs light show or take part in a firefly safari to see what you can discover first-hand.
Bring a flashlight. If you have one, bring a flashlight with a red filter β good for your night vision and for the fireflies.
Hope to see you! - West Vincent EAC
