New for 2025 is an exciting venture exploring the emerging Chill-out dance scene coming to High Wycombe. The formula will include two-hour workshops dedicated to slower-tempo music and a four-hour chilled-out freestyle experience. The music suits smooth-slotted Ceroc, SILC, WCS, blues, and expressive dancers. Welcome to Nirvana!
The formula will consist of a two-hour workshop and a chilled-out freestyle back-to-back. The music suits smooth-slotted Ceroc, SILC, WCS, blues, and expressive dancers.
FUSION WORKSHOP 1–3pm
Fusion dance has its roots in both the UK chill-out scene and the world-famous Argentine Tango social dance scene.
While the UK scene is emerging from its cocoon, Argentine Tango has been alive for well over a century. In that time, the dance has been refined and dissected with tried and tested principles universally recognised across the world.
Being a truly organic social dance, the means to move with a partner through non-verbal communication forms a universal language, with Argentine Tango concentrating on movements within the embrace, face-to-face, dancing in a closed hold.
In the UK, Blues dancing is currently the dominant style of closed-hold dancing in the Chill-out room environment. Silc is the dominant form of open-hold dance movement.
Marc and Rachel's time in Buenos Aires, the home of Argentine Tango, has helped them grow their understanding of how these different entities interact. What binds them, what separates them, and what are the common denominators that can exponentially improve your skill level?
After years of research, they believe Fusion is the secret sauce in the Blues and SILC sandwich, and this workshop will set you on the right path. It's the workshop they wish had existed when they began their path of learning Tango.
Starting with a rock-solid foundation course is essential for practising the proper techniques to witness growth. The foundation workshop plants the seeds, waters the soil to form roots, and shines light on all the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
Here's a recent example showing melodic expressive fusion dance:

The doors open at 12:30pm, so there will be plenty of time for the 1 pm start. Once the workshop has finished, the freestyle doors will open at 3pm.
While booking the workshop beforehand is not essential, beat the queue by booking ahead via the ticket link. Workshop guests can sign in and collect a wristband quickly upon arrival.
