We’re teaming up with the Newtown Book & Record Exchange for “Happy Hour & High Fidelity.”
The fun begins at the Book & Record Exchange with a Vinyl Happy Hour at 6:00 PM.
During this hour, guests will enjoy drinks, light bites, classic tunes on vinyl, and merchandise discounts. At 7:00, guests will begin making their way down State Street to the Newtown Theatre for a 7:30 screening of “High Fidelity” (2000).
Only want to see the movie? You can buy tickets at the theatre’s box office starting at 7:00, or purchase movie-only tickets on this page.
Based on the 1995 British novel by the same name, “High Fidelity” stars John Cusack as the owner of a failing Chicago record store that sells music the old-fashioned way – on vinyl. Rob also grapples with a recent breakup and tries to figure out why his relationships consistently fail. He revisits past relationships, compiling a “top five” list of his worst breakups, seeking to understand the reasons behind them and, ultimately, learn from his mistakes.
