Balsam bashing

Himalayan balsam is an invasive species that takes over our river banks and woodlands crowding out our native plants. It can be controlled by pulling out the plants before they set seed. Come and help us clear the area around Harperley pond. We will meet at the pond.
Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. The work will include some undulating terrain so is unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Please come along suitably dressed for the weather (whatever that might be) with sturdy footwear. Long sleeves and trousers are advised to protect from nettles and brambles.
Limited parking will be available at Harperley caravan storage site (DH9 9TY).
