Read & Feed: Taking Flight

The next read & feed event will be on July 17 and features Taking Flight by Adrian Magnuson. Two unlikely companions meet in midair: 13-year-old Jeremy, sent against his will by his career-absorbed father to spend the summer with his bipolar mother, and Harry, one-legged and afflicted with mid-stage Alzheimer’s, escaping his confusing present in search of a shadowy past. As we accompany them on their adventures, we learn a thing or two about birding, as both travelers share that passion.

Along the way, our heroes consume a lot of burgers, so we’re putting up a Hamburger Bar. We’ll flip our burgers on a skillet, then have a table groaning with fixings and side dishes ready to supplement them.
