Ghostly Hounds is the folk & old-time project of Francesca Mirai, a singer-songwriter andbanjo player with a haunting, soulful sound. Drawing inspiration from many genres, Francesca has become known for their classically trained, powerhouse vocals. They captivate audiences with a clear, soaring range, powerful projection, and just the right amount of grit, coalescing elegantly with traditional and modern banjo instrumentals.
With their recently-release single “Lonely Winter” and two full-length albums, Ghostly Hounds has become a staple of the Canadian music scene, relentlessly touring the country. For the past 10 years, Francesca has performed under the Ghostly Hounds moniker, ranging from solo shows to a full five-piece band. They’ve played hundreds of venues and festivals, from Vancouver Island to PEI, and into remote regions of Northern BC. After establishing a strong national presence, Ghostly Hounds is now taking the next big step in their career with their first international tour in the UK this spring, culminating at the Red Rooster Festival.
