The Black Eagle Mountain Run (BEMR) in conjunction with Black Eagle Project Roodekrans (BEPR) and the Conservation Partners in the Sugarbush Ridge Coalition (SRC) means every step for conservation! Distances range from a gentle 2km to a challenging 16km traversing the Ridge so all fitness levels are catered for.
The Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens & Ridge are home to an abundance of wildlife with about 240 bird species recorded on site including a breeding pair of Black Eagles who nest on the cliffs near the waterfall. Wild Africa Experiences is partnering with the Black Eagle Project Roodekrans and its conservation partners in the Sugarbush Ridges Coalition to bring you this amazing experience whilst raising the necessary funds to sustain this cause.
Entry Includes: Exploring the home grounds of the Black Eagle with exclusive access to well marked trails that are only open for this charity run whilst the 2km route is for exploring the beautiful surrounds of the Botanical Garden. Fully stocked water points as well as medical support. A unique finishers medal. Engagement with organisations that are key in protecting the home range of the Black Eagle. Participants are automatically entered into the lucky draw with some amazing prizes. Chill zone with live music in the park, a pop up restaurant and a relaxing day on the lawns of the Botanical Garden for the whole family.
