Do you enjoy volunteering and sharing your gardening knowledge? You may be interested in the Penn State Master Gardener volunteer program! All residents who are 18 years or older interested in becoming a certified volunteer are encouraged to attend an information session, apply, and interview.
A free information session about the Penn State Master Gardener program in Cumberland County will be held on Thursday, July 17, 6:00-7:30pm. Learn about the application and interview process, basic training course, certification requirements, and volunteer service opportunities in Cumberland County. Choose to attend in-person at the Penn State Extension office (310 Allen Road, Carlisle, PA 17013) or online via Zoom. Register by July 16 online at https://extension.psu.edu/master-gardener-training-info-for-cumberland-county or call Penn State Extension Registration Services toll-free at 1-877-345-0691. Walk-ins will be accepted. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link to attend virtually and receive the recording.
Applications for the 2025-2026 basic training course will be accepted through July 31, 2025. Apply online at https://tinyurl.com/PSMGofCCApp. Interviews will be conducted August 18-27. The course which costs $250 will be held weekly on Thursday evenings, 6:00-8:15pm, from October 2025 through March 2026.
