The Meditation and Support Circle is a new initiative being piloted by a few members of Kelowna Unitarians. It is peer-led and rooted in compassion, inclusivity and with disability at the forefront. Inspired by (though not limited to) Buddhist practice and meditation, this group seeks to help people in their daily lives through disability, chronic illness, mental health struggle or simply just stress management.
We invite you to join us at 7:00 PM on Monday for our next Meditation and Support Circle. It will begin with a short talk (10 minutes) to set the tone, followed up with a group meditation (30 minutes) and finally a discussion group (20 minutes or as long as time allows).
June 30 Topic: The Nature of the Self
This week we cover a core key teaching in Buddhist philosophy, the concept of "no-self" or AnattΔ. Feel free to bring a cushion for meditation, however chairs will be available for those who need them or those who do not bring cushions.
