Unlocking the Language of Clothing Patterns with Iisha Lemming

Wanna sew something awesome, but can't read all those funny symbols and the general layout of sewing pattern instruction sheets? Come join us for this fun and informative beginner class, where pattern language will be explained! We'll walk through a couple of different types of patterns, to decode what all those symbols really mean. You’ll learn how to choose your size, how much fabric you'll need, how to lay the pieces out on your fabric for cutting, and how to proceed from there.

Please bring with you the following:
A clothing pattern you want to make
Some practice fabric (at least 2 yards; could be the fabric for your garment or other)
Scissors for cutting paper
Pins

Iisha will be touching on deciphering digital patterns as well in case that's also something you have wanted to try. For ease of our discussion, look over your pattern "guidesheets" (instructions) before coming in and have your questions ready.

Ages 8 & up, please.
