- Join us for EGG DROP!

Eggs will plummet from on high at Science Central during our annual Egg Drop, set for Sunday, July 13.

Presented by Design Collaborative and held at Science Central, this event challenges participants of all ages to create devices that can protect eggs from a mighty tumble into a giant frying pan!

Egg-dropping patrons can join our Maker's Space, located in the Discovery Lab near admissions, to construct an egg-carrying device at Science Central. Specktators do not need to pay for this event. If you wish to explore the museum after the event has ended, please visit the front desk to pay the regular admission fee. Registered participants will not need to pay regular admission.

There is no fee to participate in the event; registration is required. Check-in on the day of the event will begin at noon. Participants will receive a wristband granting them access to the museum until 3 PM.

We'll start dropping eggs at 1 p.m. and will continue until all egg contraptions are tested, or until 3 p.m. Guests can expect loads of fun and should be on the lookout for a roaming chicken mascot and seasoned veterans of prior Egg Drops.

Egg devices will be judged, and prizes will be awarded to those whose devices prove to be impressive, effective, or egg-cellent!
