Bound Eagle: Finding Freedom in a Bind

Join us in the heart of the historic French Quarter for a transformative yoga workshop exploring the powerful symbolism and physical expression of Bound Eagle Pose (Baddha Garudasana). ➰🦅

Held in the atmospheric upper room of Beckham’s Bookshop, a storied building dating back to the 1830s, this workshop invites practitioners to reflect on the nature of freedom—both personal and collective—within the confines of structure, history, and the body itself.

Through intentional movement 🤸‍♂️, breathwork 💨, and guided reflection, we’ll examine the duality of being both bound and open: how limitation can create clarity 🔮, how contraction gives rise to expansion, and how the body’s natural opposites—left and right, forward and back, inhale and exhale—support balance and transformation.

Timed to coincide with a holiday often associated with patriotism and power, this workshop offers an alternative reflection:
What does it mean to feel bound by a nation or its leaders? How can that tension ignite an awakening of truth, authenticity, and self-expression?

Come prepared to explore dynamic and restorative practices that activate the core, shoulders, hips, and heart space, culminating in a deepened understanding of both the physical and energetic aspects of Bound Eagle.

Whether you’re feeling caged or ready to soar, this workshop offers a space to investigate, integrate, and move toward liberation—within and without. 🌈✨🎇
