Blood Drive @ Ebb & Flow Studio

On November 1, 2024, because of routine bloodwork performed at a yearly wellness check, my mom was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was asymptomatic at the time.
Her treatment was immediate and it was intense because without it, life expectancy was weeks.
AML is a cancer of the white blood cells. To battle it, the chemo needs to wipe out those bad white blood cells. However, chemo doesn't discriminate. It wipes out the good with the bad leaving my mom dependant upon blood and platelet transfusions to survive the treatment.
I will never know the donors whose blood was used to keep my mom going during her numerous rounds of chemo but their donation has graced us with the gifts of time and hope. I am hosting this blood drive in my mom's honor to underscore the importance of donating blood.
