Join the Bristol Historical & Preservation Society and Coggeshall Farm Museum for Collect the Walk! On this hands-on nature walk, visitors will examine how collecting has impacted our natural environment and how we can capture its beauty without leaving a trace. The walks are at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

This guided nature walk will take visitors through some of the trails on the Coggeshall Farm Museum property. On this tour, you will learn about the area’s history and how research, collecting, and other related processes have impacted this environment. You will also get a chance to try out a creative version of ‘collecting’ your experience!

The event will start with a small talk about the history of the space (Coggeshall Farm Museum) and an overview of the art technique that the participants will use to “collect” the walk. They will then be led on a walk where the guides will talk about the area and its history. While they go on the walk, visitors will also get the chance to try out the collecting style or find inspiration for collecting. After the walk, participants will have a chance to finish, or do the art activity, and then time to talk through their creations and what they thought of the process.

Artifacts will also be on display throughout the day with costumed historians demonstrating 18th-century skills.
