Join refuge staff in learning the history and biology of black bears while having the opportunity to view black bears in their natural habitat through this guided walking tour down North Lake Rd.
Vehicles are subject to road conditions on the Pungo Unit. Roads on the refuge have a weight limit of 8,000lbs. The tour will begin
at the Pungo Unit Kiosk located near 600 Refuge Rd Pantego, NC at the corner of Pat’s Rd and Refuge Rd. There is a sign
at the kiosk stating, “Refuge Tour Meets Here.” Folks will follow refuge personnel in their personal vehicles through the
refuge to North Lake Road for the guided walking portion of the tour.
